Requirements for Joining
- Proof of completed doula training (certification preferred, but not required)
- Proof of liability insurance
- Evidence of ongoing continuing education
- Enthusiasm for contributing to a supportive community
The Birth Companions commission structure
Your commission through The Birth Companions is based on the number of clients you support each month:

Annual membership
$275 per year
Monthly membership
$25 per month
Membership includes
- Monthly virtual birth and postpartum client-share meetings
- Free Kaiser billing
- Quarterly in-person coffee gatherings with doulas in your service area
- Monthly educational calls led by a Master Doula
- Promotion on The Birth Companions’ social media channels and website
- Access to a community of backup doulas
- Ongoing emotional support, resources, and continuing-education opportunities
How to Join Our Team
Our application process is straightforward. Most applicants hear back within one week.
1. Apply Online
Share your service areas, experience, and training status in a short application. No documents are needed yet.
2. Meet Our Team
After we review your application, we may invite you to an interview.
3. Complete Your Portal Profile
If accepted, use your private invitation to complete your profile, documents, and agreement.
4. Start Supporting
Begin receiving client matches and doing what you love - supporting families.
